چکیده

Spat supply for mussel farming in Morocco is essentially based on seed capture and collection from natural beds. However, irregularity recruitment exploited areas encountered difficulties during spat operations have led to develop improve reproduction techniques under controlled conditions hatcheries. The present study focused the larvae phase aiming at assessing growth rate varies between different development stages. Trocophore larva stage had a size of 63.25 μm reached pedivilegere with 272.56 18 culture days. Length was more significant than width both H-batch T-batch. For instance, grew terms length quickly T-batch (11.10± 1.30 9.67 ± 1.17 day -1 ), same pattern observed larvae. Inversely, total biomass consumed higher rearing ones. In contrast, effect feeding significantly (t=7.55, df=23, p<0.001) ones (t=4.13, p<0.001). specific revealed I. galbana batches rather C. calcitrans T. suecica . reduction linked beginning tissue synthesis.

Bioaccumulation of trace metals in mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis) from Mali Ston Bay during DSP toxicity episodes.

The Croatian National Monitoring Program revealed the presence of Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning (DSP) toxicity in Mediterranean blue mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis) from breeding farms in southern Adriatic Sea through January to June 2011. The mouse bioassay tests (MBA; at the time the official method for DSP toxins) were accompanied by atypical symptomatology in the animals and this caused...

Antimicrobial Peptides from Mussel Mytilus Galloprovincialis: the Myticins

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have been found in different bivalve species but a remarkable abundance of these small peptides has been reported for the Mediterranean mussel, Mytillus galloprovincialis. In particular, the myticin C (Myt C) is the most abundantly expressed gene in cDNA libraries and also in Next generation sequencing projects after immune stimulation. This AMP presents a high gen...
